| June 7, 2000UpdateI'm in my new disability accessible apartment WITH my cat and she has her claws! I was going nuts, getting extremely depressed (not good for MSers) hassling with this woman, Manager of Accessible Space Inc., St. Paul, MN. They own this building as well as several others across the Country. I got the final negative response from her so I called Congressman Sam Farr. Explained the situation to his secretary, he intern gave it to a woman for follow-up. It was great because she turned out to be a cat lover! she was completely on my side, especially when she found out that Blue is 14. She (I apologize because I can't remember her name) said she would look into this and lo and behold I get a call the next day from the Manager, saying she and her boss talked it over and if I put up a $300 extra deposit I wouldn't have to declaw my cat!... so Blue is here casing the joint, marking all the spots she's planning on tearing up!! Thought I'd give you this great update. Still waiting to hear from doctors and getting my place organized. |
