January 16 Good News, Bad News and maybe Good again! The good news is, I've hired a real nice Live-in. She's 40, mature, pleasant personality, single with no alcohol or drug problems. Was beginning to think that combination didn't exist! The bad news is, I don't think Procarin is going to work for me, (I've had to get over my depression about that realization!) I actually feel better without it. My body doesn't feel as heavy, I move my right arm a little easier without Procarin. I have to take into account that the refrigeration all through using Procarin hasn't been kept at the proper temperature, meaning anywhere from 32 to 44 degrees. Their (attendants) interest in keeping it at the proper temperature wasn't of interest at all. And I can't tell you how long it was at a wrong temperature. Too cold, too warm... who knows! And the cost is a problem right now. I feel bad about this for one because I talked the Pharmacist into registering. (I'm pretty convincing when necessary!) Hopefully he'll get other MSers that get better results. Good for him BUT good for them. Between refrigeration problems and the negative cloud that seems to be at home, I don't think Procarin stands a chance. I've been thinking that with my new Live-in who is conscientious, I may try using Procarin for another couple of months. With an optimum environment, things could be completely different. (At least that's what it says in the fine print!!) I'm still trying to get information on plasma exchange, but no luck. There's got to be Studies going on somewhere, besides that one study at the Mayo Clinic with MSers and exacerbations. I'm looking for research using CP MSers, that's the only way my "Courageous" (not) neurologist might go for it. I don't see how plasma exchange wouldn't help... my thinking... I need proof. Thank you to all that wrote these past weeks, asking how I was. It brought me out of my depression enough to kick me in the ... and get back on the treadmill... bummer it has to be that but at least it's motion! |
