November 4, 19992 Steps Forward 1 1/2 Steps Back!My exercise plan has gone up in smoke for the time being because my friends wife got into an accident involving a semi-truck! Their finances are going to be used for her rehabilitation, which is really, really needed. I can't go into details because of the legal matters involved. After they "Win" (which they will- Boy, are they ever!) they will be able to help me. They can help with the Y2K thing, which I'm thankful for... So much has been going on here this past month that I'm actually confused as to what has happened in which order. My computer was down for 2 weeks, major bummer there because of the catch-up I go through when I eventually get it running but more to the point is I'm without my escape from the "Normal" (it seems) living environment that I can't seem to change. I hired a woman for the Live-in position, she was great during the interview but she turned out to be extremely hostile, prejudiced and everything between. I fired her, she came over a few nights later and wouldn't leave, it took the cops to make her leave! She basically said "I'll leave when I'm damn good and ready!" That scared me to say the least, I'm a sitting duck for whomever. She was in the other room so I had time to call 911. I wear a headset so she didn't hear the dial tone, if she had all that she would have had to do is take the phone away. (That's happened in the past) I always wear my headset from a previous experience.... And we don't have the RIGHT to check potential employees out!! I wouldn't and don't ask for anything out of the ordinary. (one woman has been with me for 9 years, Allen for 5, sure do miss him) I've been hiring people out of desperation not taking my time. But the options I have for hiring are extremely limited because of money... the bottom line to all this ends up being money. I have to hire people as I do because if I don't I'll end up in an Institution with ALL Freedom taken away, no cat, no privacy, no independence, you get the picture. (Know any millionaires!!) As I've said, I've been in 3 so far. I'm still using Procarin, twice daily. My pain level is still lots better. And again I don't know where I could be if exercising and ROM were being done. I've asked my Pharmacist if he has any leads for people that would be into exercising me, being paid minimum wage, up to $7 when possible. He's going to get back with me. I've stopped using the RifeBare device completely. (bummer, I did like that thing.) Same reasons, no one to turn the machine on (on a regular basis) and adjust settings. Consistence is important with RifeBare, Procarin and anything else for that matter. I'm always looking, hunting, stressing over the absolute minimum first...Basic care. Than (Usually at the same time) I'm always looking for a way to have PT, ROM, EMS unit used (still have that thing!), standing frame and anything else to move my body. It sounds like a lot of stuff (and it is actually!) But it's not all done at the same time and doesn't take up a big block of time per exercise and it's not strenuous... for them! Now... after all this rambling, I'll stay with the Procarin... and start making my plans for moving into the new Apartment Complex that's being built for disabled people ONLY! Should be completed in May. Maybe there'll be attendants wanting extra work! |
