August 24, 1999A way to get Procarin
...ANY...Pharmacy (capable of compounding drugs) can make Procarin. They have to register with the International Compounding Pharmacy. (1-800-927-4227) Cost is between $8,000 to $10,000. Sign the Non Disclosure Agreement with Delack and that's about it! The pharmacist ends up paying about 80 cents per dose. So depending on whom you go through, the cost could get REAL CHEAP! I think the registration fee is to basically get on a referral list so when MSers or other conditions call, International Compounding Pharmacy refers people to the Pharmacy in their area OR it's 8000 dollars for each new compounded drug OR it's the right to sell Procarin. I'm not sure. In my case, they gave me the Lauden Pharmacy number, which is the next town over. The Pharmacy wasn't registered so he has to do that first. He'll be ready to sell Procarin sometime next week. He said he's received several calls so he is definitely interested. He also said he's going to try and keep the cost down. Which is an added change and nice to hear! So we are basically doing the legwork for somebody! They (International Compounding Pharmacy) give us the number of the closest Pharmacy doing compounding drugs, we present the situation, showing Desire, they see benefit (profit or otherwise), pay the registration fee and "Gentlemen start your engines"! By finding a doctor locally and getting Procarin locally, cost could stay way down. Good luck everyone! |
