Pneumonia minor setback...June 22, 1998Well,"when it rains it pours"in my case it's hale the size of footballs! I came down with pneumonia Friday night with a fever of 102, went in the hospital Saturday. Had IV antibiotics to kill it. Asked to be released Sunday morning because the care at the hospital was non existent.(I would get better care at home.) I was released Sunday evening, I feel much better now. VNA came in for a couple of days to help with inhalers to clear my lungs and to show my live-in how to set them up so I can use them 3x a day for the next 30 days. I'm getting my strength back quickly, which is surprising because I've had pneumonia twice. I had to go into an institution for a month, both times. This time, it's been 4 days and I'm feeling pretty good! I can TAP MY INDEX FINGER TO MUSIC WHILE LAYING DOWN! I had to cancel my food allergy testing. I kept my IV Port appointment. I will decide in 2 weeks to either wait for the immunoglobulin or do mitoxantrone and Solumedrol once a week. I wish I could get a hold of immunoglobulin, I'm amazed at all the places doing research in the USA, UK and other countries. It will be a month before I can get the TENS unit so until than I will get my strength back, exercise and tap my index finger to music! |
