ONE MORE BLOOD TEST... CD4 +... T CELL COUNT:
I am going to have another blood test, CD4 +, for my T cell count. Now and then once a month, to see if the mitoxantrone is in fact reducing the count. It is critical that CD4 + be reduced to the normal level! That means no more progression of the disease, and the body may be able to begin healing.
The VNA (Visiting Nurses of America) will be drawing my blood at home. It's extremely difficult for me to travel, especially with the weather being so hot. I've asked for the same nurse, hopefully she'll become familiar with my veins and how to move my body so I won't spasm everytime she tries rearranging my arm!
It's amazing to me, that professionals in the medical field don't know how to manipulate a MSers body...ALL the nurses that I've dealt with, (Neurologist Offices included) now and in the past have had to be instructed by me,(That includes doctors as well as Physical Therapists!!!) on how not to move my body fast or with a jerking motion. They always grab my arm or some other body part abruptly. Moving, pushing or turning something too fast, causing me to spasm! MS has been around (officially) for about 150 years, you would think a neurologist and physical therapist would know better.
The nurse was successful, it only took 2 tries!! She'll be back next month...:-)
