ROM exercising is going well...my body is being moved, stretched rolled and pulled 5 days a week! When I started this (3 weeks ago) my arms were (while laying down) pulled straight out in front of me, that's as far as they could go without much pain. Now they're going past my head almost touching the headboard!!... I'm not saying this is from the mitoxantrone... would be nice to think so:-)
What I am saying is from the mitoxantrone (in my opinion) is that my spasms are less while doing these exercises. My feet especially don't spasm as much when being touched, touching them at any time in the past would make my body spasm like crazy! Moving any part of my body in an unfamiliar manner or fast motion would bring on spasms. In ROM exercises my body is being moved fairly fast, I very seldom spasm.
It sounds like I'm repeated myself about these or lack of these spasms,...that's because I am!...I'm just impressed with this development.
I haven't started the "Tilt Table" or my peddling machine, hopefully next week. The"Table", I need to find another person to help with that exercise...Gennett (my live-in) will get too tired having to do all the exercises on my body, she says, she doesn't mind but I think it's best to hire another person. The peddling machine, the same thing, I need another person.
By this treatment not being approved for MS, Medi-cal (State Health Coverage) won't approve physical therapy (PT) for any length of time, they've approved 6 visits once a week!... I need PT everyday or 5 days a week for a long time.So I'm basically on my own to keep PT going! I'm hoping that WHEN this treatment IS approved that that will change.
MITOXANTRONE TREATMENT SCHEDULE:
I will be having the mitoxantrone treatment every 28 days. I'll be talking with Dr. Pomeroy October 27th to discuss arrangements for using methylprednisolone with my ongoing mitoxantrone treatments.
My next Journal entry will more than likely be after my second treatment, October 31st...unless something spectacular happens...Geez,wouldn't that be Great!! You are at the top of my list to know! After my MOM:-)
