Sperm Count Tests Can Now Happen In Your Smartphone Through An App Perhaps you have been trying to make a baby with your wife and somehow, no matter how hard you try, it just has not happened yet. Your wife even bought an ovulation predictor kit. And you may have already bought a sperm count kit but the ones available in the market right now only test how many sperm there are, and not how well they move. Fortunately, there’s an FDA-approved test now that will allow you to use a smartphone app to not only count sperm but find out how well they swim. As to how this work, a product uses an app and mini-microscope “clip” that will be attached on the top your phone, letting your device access the phone’s light, focus and recording capabilities. The process is very easy: you prepare a sample on the slide (sort of like the one you did in high school biology class), stick it into the clip, and within just two minutes you will see the moving sperm on your phone’s screen. You will then have to wait another minute to see the test results. If you are a little anxious of the results, the app will give you some cheeky “sperm trivia” to lighten up the mood. The app will be recording the video and the results so you can always watch it again whenever you want to. As for the accuracy level of the kit, CEO of Medical Electronic Systems, Marcia Deutch, said that extensive testing has been made for the last four years. Moreover, the technology can accurately read the sperm sample 99 percent of the time just as long you use it according to everything the instructions tell you. Based on FDA studies of 316 participants, the results are more than 97 percent accurate. Since the technology is an over-the-counter product, Deutsch said that the test will not give actual values but it will only indicate if it is “low” or “moderate/normal” based on World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines for sperm motility (how well they move) and concentration (how many there are). Users can expect a test reporting a composite of the two parameters referred to as the “motile sperm concentration,” or the number of moving sperm.

The home test is just the first step to finding out whether you have fertility issue or not. So if the results come back low, you will have to go the fertility clinic to have a test done and confirm the results. Aside from the motility and concentration though, you will need to go check out the morphology, which is how many normally shaped sperm there are. You will want to go see a doctor for this one. Now, if you have already done all the home tests and they returned normal, see a doctor if you still have not conceived in one year, or six months if you are aged over 35.What Research About Applications Can Teach You
