| | September 2002 Greetings everyone, Well the wedding was super we all had a wonderful time. A wedding should be the party of a lifetime and I think we managed to provide that. As far as we can figure there were about 140 people and enough food to feed them all. We had 75lbs of beef cooking on the hog cooker, 40 lbs of ham, Mexican chicken and rice, chicken fajitas, salads, pastries and of course wedding cake. We went through 2 kegs of beer as well as wine and whatever anyone else brought. It was nice to share this time with friends and family. We had a D.J., bon fire, there was dancing and all the usual wedding stuff. One of the nice things was that it was outdoor and here at the house so as soon as all the "formal" stuff was over everyone changed clothes and had a good time. As soon as I get some pictures I will scan them and put them up to share with you all. I think one of the most impacting moments for me was the mother son dance. There was a time that I never imagined I would be able to dance with my son at his wedding. There I was dancing with my son and to top it off dancing with my son in high heels not wheels. That and just seeing the fine young man my little boy has become really got to me. Many of you have heard me say that having kids is a conspiracy. If folks told the truth about what child rearing involved no one would have kids so people lie and make it sound so great. Well raising kids is a challenge and sometimes has more downs then ups but .... I would do it all over again because it is definitely worth every single minute. The way we become who we are is by doing what we've done and learning along the way. Everything and everyone in our lives make us who we are. If life didn't give us challenges and puzzles and lessons we would be a pretty boring society. Talk about raising kids..... Mike and I have a new addition as well....Shaemus our 7 weeks old Yellow English Labrador Retriever.... he is definitely a ball of energy when he isn't curled up in a ball sleeping at our feet. I'll put some pics up to share as well once we get some. Next on the agenda is the 2002 MSBASH in Georgia at the end of this month. Hope to see you all there. HUGs and LOVE Carolyn aka Oishda |
