| May 31,2001 Well 25 years ago today I was in the hospital preoccupied with giving birth to my son Michael who I must say turned out to be quiet a special young man. As for his 25th Birthday he gets to see his mom who last night he referred to as "The George Thorogood of mom's." (He meant bad to the bone I hope) enjoying a relatively MonSter free life after many years of DaNcInG with the MonSter. The reason I am saying this is not to gloat about this unexpected remission but, to show you how stress and other factors if gone unchecked can really make this a miserable MonSter. Over the years I have gone through many extremes and to this day I firmly believe that AtTiTuDe*IS*EvErYtHiNg!!! Don't get lost in MS. We may have it but it doesn't have to have us! Do what you can when you can the best you can...if you run up against a wall find a way to climb it... If you can't walk, roll. If you can't run, walk. If you can't type, talk. There are ways to continue by adapting. Learn all you can about all resources available to you. Never give in or give up. It isn't an easy battle I know this very well... but it is a battle that can be won over time. We have so much available to us that years ago would have been unheard of. Take advantage of all that's out their to help maintain your lifestyle and your health. Don't ever let the MonSter stop you. It may slow me down on occasion but sometimes slow is OK I refuse to come to halt. Hopefully reading some of the words I share with you will help to let you know MS doesn't mean it's over.
