| | August 9 2004 Hello Everyone, Things are going well. It's been a busy summer here although the weather has yet to realize it's summer. Michigan weather is so messed up. I've had my bike out once so far. It's either been to wet or too hot or we have been too busy. According to Mike I didn't do too bad a job though so that's encouraging. This has been a bad season though, we've lost a couple friends to senseless accidents and have a couple more recovering from accidents. To be honest as much as I want to ride my own, I am doing some serious soul searching about it. I know this much though, you will not see me on the road until I am fully confident in my abilities to operate a bike. The HOG Rendezvous was a blast. Mike and I had a great time and the concerts and fireworks were awesome. We also visited with my niece (who last night made me a great aunt of a 8 lb 7 oz baby girl) and her hubby as they have an apartment up there. The "biker parade" was great we had fun riding in it and seeing all the people lined up for miles to see all the bikes. It's definitely a sight worth seeing. Shaemus gave us a scare a couple weeks ago. He got bit or stung by something and his ear and the whole side of his face and neck swelled up. Needless to say we had to visit the vet. After two of us restraining him so the vet could shave his ear and clean it I remembered why I had to retire. That was quite a job. So now after a week and a half of steroids and antibiotics the swelling is gone and his ear looks much better. Hopefully he learned to stay away from whatever bug it was that nailed him although I did catch him eating bee's up at Mikes' mothers place. So far the MonSter is pretty much staying quiet. I did start taking Provigil for fatigue and it appears to be helping. We've only had a couple extremely hot and humid days (thank goodness) that made it hard to function. Hope you all are doing well and staying cool. Hugs and Love |
